Charity Drive at Jeevan Jyot Cancer Relief & Care Trust – 01/10/2019

This year’s charity drive was conducted for Jeevan Jyot Cancer Relief and Care Trust.  It is a registered charitable trust who help people with food, accommodation, medicines & guidance for cancer treatment. They serve lunch, dinner and turmeric milk to around 600 cancer patients daily. They fulfill their basic needs and also give them moral support. They conduct Blood Donation drives. They have also setup a toy bank for cancer affected children wherein they can come and play. Since last 32 years, the trust tries to bring ray of hope and joy in life to the cancer patients.

The ladies of Jagruti Mahila Mandal Mumbai participated in the charity drive organised by their president Mrs. Prabhavati Patel. All the donations – monetary or material were voluntary & personally contributed by the members.

The donations given by JMM members were as follows:

1. Prabhavati Patel:

• Rs. 51,000/- by cheque
• 100 Kurtis, 100 Leggins, Palazzos & Pants
• 9 Kg Sugar, 6 Kg Moong Daal, 5 Kg Chana Daal, 5 Kg Tuvar Daal, 10 Kg Kolam Rice, 10 Kg Wheat Atta, 1 Kg Tea
• 15 Litres Big Cooker, Utensils

2. Jagruti Asmani:

• Rs. 2,500/- cash
• 10 kg Whole Wheat Atta, 3 kg Sugar, 2 kg Tea, 1 kg Mix Fruit Jam, 1 kg Tomato Ketchup
• Biscuit Packets – 24 Parle G, 24 Moneco, 24 krack jack

3. Madhaviben Mody:

• Rs. 5,000/- by cheque
• Old Children Clothes, Old Footwear

4. Pravinaben Mody:

• Rs. 500/- cash
• 10 kg Rice, 2 kg Tuvar Daal, 3 kg Sugar

5. Mamta Randeria:

• Rs. 5,000/- cash
• Old Clothes

6. Ramilaben Mody:

• 10 kg Whole Wheat Atta, 2 kg Besan, 2 kg Ghee, 5 Litres Oil
• 2 Big Dabbas, 1 Big Pavali, Utensils
• Old Men’s Clothes

7. Ilaben Gandhi:

• 6 Litres Sunflower Oil, 1 kg Besan, 1 Kg Rava, 500 grams Jaggery, 1 kg Salt, 3 kg Sugar, 10 kg Whole Wheat Atta
• Biscuit Packets – Parle G 72 packets.

8. Hina Mody:

• Foodgrains

9. Kasmira Mehta:

• Rs. 15,000/-

10. Deepa Khatiwala:

• Rs. 5,000/- Cheque

11. Bhanuben Randeria:

• Rs. 5,000/- Cheque

Thus, the drive proved to be deeply satisfying for both the JMM members and the Jeevan Jyot Cancer Relief Trust members.
