Winter Ponk Party was a huge success. It was well planned entertaining event. The members were served coffee & biscuits to kick start the event, on arrival. Mrs. Prabhavati Patel, JMM president began the evening by welcoming all the members, guests and also the committee members of Jagruti Mandal. She officially introduced the four new JMM committee members, to all the present members in the function :-
1) Mrs. Jagruti Asmani
2) Mrs. Madhvi Mody
3) Mrs. Jyoti Chapatwala
4) Mrs. Deepa Khatiwala
She gave an introduction of the star performer of the evening, ‘Mr. Navsad Kotadiya’ – an international Gujarati Hasya Kalakar. Navsadbhai was welcomed with a bouquet by Mrs. Prabhaben & Mr. Nayanbhai Khambati. Then, it was two hours of pure Gujarati humour by Navsadbhai. The guests were highly entertained. The programme ended with a vote of thanks speech by Mrs. Mamta Randeria. Afterwards, Mrs. Jagruti Asmani announced the names of new registered members of Jagruti Mandal and Jagruti Mahila Mandal. As usual, members donated generously towards Mandal.
The evening ended with all the members enjoying the delicious Surati dinner with delicacies like Undhiyu-Puri, Live Corn Dhokla, Fresh Green Ponk-Sev and last but not the least, Saalam Paak. All the delicacies were specially ordered and delivered from Surat.
The members were given Gujarati tithi Calenders for 2016 as a gift from the Mandal, provided by Mrs. Kailashben Gajjar of Surat.
A total of 90 members attended & enjoyed the Winter Ponk Party, making it a huge success.
