This year’s Ponk Party started with Smt. Prabhaben Patel (president) giving a welcome speech in which she thanked all the members for their support and cooperation towards all Mandal activities. She wished them happy Makar sankranti as it is in the next week. She also gave her good wishes for the coming year to all the Mandal Sakhis. She then welcomed the event manager Mrs. Hetal Shera to start hosting various games competitions.
Thus, started two hours of pure fun and entertainment. All the ladies young and senior participated with almost childish joy & seriousness. Many games were played with joyful abandonment. And then the star of the evening Musical Housie based on Bollywood movies and its hit songs was played along with lots of singing & dancing The games ended with winners being announced and prizes were distributed.
Committee Members then did haldi – kumkum to all members, distributed til gud ladoos & also gave every one handkerchief napkin in lieu of celebrating Makar sankranti. Gujarati Tithi Calenders were also distributed to all the members.
The evening ended with delicious Surati dinner of Undhiyu, Puri, Ratalu puri ( Kand bhajia), Sitaphal Basundi, Ponk Sev, Salads & Buttermilk.
